Dara - Carved Mother of shops Pearl Pendant in Hand Forged Sterling Silver

Intricate, carved mother of pearl shell set into oxidised sterling silver.

Delicate, lace-like carving in an almost celtic knot style. The surface of the shell displays pretty mother of pearl sheen, which catches the light when moved. I have set it over a solid, blackened silver base, to contrast and highlight the detailed design. The bezel surround is contoured to the curved outline of the piece. The base is made from recycled silver and the reverse shows the hammer marks created during the shops forging process.

Stamped 925 on reverse for sterling silver. Simple tube bail. This pendant hangs on a simple chain with a standard spring clasp. If your preferred chain length is not listed, just contact me.

The white mother of pearl is nicely glowy and a wonderful contrast to the rustic silver setting. All silver has been blackened and then sanded for a timeless vintage feel.

This item is made by hand using simple hand tools and traditional metalsmithing techniques. Expect to see evidence of the hand forging process - tiny hammer marks and irregularities. Gemstones are natural and untreated - they may have minor surface imperfections, inclusions or colour variations.
