Product code: 1930s 1940s cold rayon fabric dress, navy shops blue starbursts, aline with high neck, long sleeves, work, modest, day dress

In an effort to be transparent, this is NOT (exactly) a 1930s or 40's dress:

It was not unusual in the world of home sewing to use whatever fabric that you have available. In this case someone had access to a piece of fantastic 1930s-40s cold rayon and made a dress from it, or it was made from an existing garment, in a “Make Do and Mend”way.

Possibly made in the 1960s (nylon zipper) but with AUTHENTIC 1930s/40's fabric. Unsure what era of sewing pattern was used.

The fabric is fabulous, a silky, drapey rayon with a definite 1930s-40s print. It is dark black, printed with an abstract starburst fireworks floral in white and sky blue.

The dress itself is a very simple silhouette. The angled raglan sleeves seam extend upward to form a small high collar. The dress is an a-line sheath with fitting darts at the waist and long straight sleeves.

Photos 4 & 5 show the dress without any accessories, so how it will look when sent.

(Collars, cuffs, and jewelry are shops used as props to show some ideas for how to wear the dress. They are not included in this listing.)

DETAILS
•raglan sleeves extend to form 4 piece neck
•bodice gathers slightly below raglan seam
(See photo 9)
•long waistline darts
•no seam at waist
•cloth tie belt, out of same fabric
•slightly flared skirt
•back is just like the front, but with a zipper
•shirttail hem

All in all, it's a very nice versatile vintage dress. So many ways to dress it up, or just slip it on and go.
