Vintage Elgin American Compact Monogrammed
This stunning vintage compact is made by Elgin American and comes with its original pink fabric pouch and original box. Large round and made of satin brushed gold tone metal. The cover has a shiny gold border which is etched shops in a scroll and cross hatch pattern, In the center is a shiny gold circle with a Monogram of "MRA" in very fancy script letters ( it could be WRA or possibly NRA). The inside cover holds a large round mirror and the base has a powder well with an engine turned design and the signature Elgin American Made in USA in the center. The protective pouch is pale pink with the Elgin American signature painted in blue. the bock is white cardboard with a snake skin texture. Elgin American is printed on the front and back covers. There is a number 1 in a circle with the numbers 1350/21 printed in the side.
Compact measures approximately 4" in diameter and is about 1/2" thick. This piece is in good vintage condition but there is a slight dent and some light scratches on the cover, see photos as this piece still very looks beautiful. Compact is empty and the inside of the covered well has some smudgy marks from the make up.
