Mylar foil was flown aboard the MISSE payload to the International Space Station aboard the CRS-14 Falcon 9 Rocket where it orbited outside of the Space Station for over 14 months before returning to Earth aboard the SpaceX CRS-17 Dragon Capsule.

- What is Mylar Foil?
While in space the mylar foil was subjected to temperatures of -100 °C (-148 °F) up to 120 °C (248 °F), electromagnetic radiation (UV-A, UV-B, UV-C, Visible Light, IR), micro-gravity (weightlessness), and the vacuum of space. The foil was used as a separating agent within the payload so that the contents did not stick together permanently.
