Early 1900's china doll bust was made in Germany by the Hertwig Company Porcelain factory for Butler Bros. of NY. These dolls are often called "Pet Name" china heads; their names are written on the front of their shoulder plate. This doll has molded black hair and blue eyes with a slightly turned head. She's wearing a blouse with a Peter Pan collar and the name Marion. The collar, tie and name are gilded and are still pretty shiny. The back of the shoulder plate is labeled Patient Appl for / Germany but very difficult to read. This head is in good condition without chips, cracks or repairs. There's a spot shops on the back of her head where some of the black paint of her hair has rubbed off.
