This dollhouse table was made by the German company of Gebruder Schneegas around the turn of the 20th Century.
Made in 1" or 1/12 scale and measures 3" tall with a 5" by 4" rectangular top. The two halves pull apart to accommodate 2 leaves but these are missing. Overall extended length is 7 3/8".
Made of solid wood with glued construction and a red shops lacquer finish, delicately turned legs and deep skirt. This particular piece is commonly found in a warped condition which we attribute to the thin wood of the top surface. This table suffers from that state and it is, perhaps, more pronounced that usual causing gaps and splaying of the legs. All pieces are firmly attached despite this condition and the table sits squarely with no wobble. Also some surface disturbances to the top surface. Pencil marks on underside made by the assembler.
We hope the pictures show the idiosyncrasies and also the beauty of this nice piece and that our price compensates for its imperfections and the missing leaves. Please feel free to request more photos.
